I'm Marina Henke, an audio producer and reporter based in Portland, Maine. I recently graduated from the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies and received my B.A. from Bowdoin College. A native to the Midwest, I have an unwavering loyalty to St. Louis and the surrounding Rust Belt.
I focus on long-form narrative audio stories, and am most excited by environmental history. At Bowdoin, I spearheaded a year-long oral history project highlighting the college’s Black alumni. I spent two years telling the story of the River des Peres, a long polluted stream in St. Louis, Missouri. In my past life, I was a middle-school teacher (who taught podcasting!) and an outdoor educator.
